Sandy Pond, a
harbor to Lake Ontario, is 2 miles wide by 5 miles long, covers 2,403 acres and
is up to 17 feet deep. The channel
to Lake Ontario is a 2-minute boat ride from the cottage.
There are boat launches at the five marinas on Sandy Pond, as well as on
Salmon River, Little Salmon River and Lakeview Marsh.
The cottage property has
100 feet of shoreline on Sandy Pond and a 40-foot dock in front reserved
exclusively for you. The dock
easily accommodates two Lake Ontario size boats and is fun to sit on, fish from,
or sunbathe on.
The Duck Blind cottage
is located in a private setting with views of Sandy Pond and the channel to Lake
Ontario. There is plenty of room in
the yard for the kids to play and for the adults to sit and relax in privacy.
There is ample parking for two vehicles and two boat trailers.
The cottage is situated 150 feet from the road and 60 feet from Sandy Pond’s waters edge.
Chipman Lane, a private country road, is maintained regularly and has
minimal traffic. Most days there
are more golf carts and kids on bikes than there are cars. The road winds between Sandy Pond and the golf course and is
a very pleasant walk.
Sandy Pond evenings
are especially beautiful. The pond comes alive with breaking fish looking for
dinner and honking geese and quacking ducks scaling in to rest.
Frequently a Great Blue Heron flies into Sandy Pond to fish for an
evening meal. View sunsets and enjoy campfires on the waters
edge while sitting in the Adirondack chairs. Marshmallow
roasting is optional.
