Upstate NY Golf Vacation

Golf upstate NY golf courses    Lake Ontario cottage rentals is ideally located among many New York courses making this a good place for your New York golf vacation.  Using our list of nearby upstate golf courses you can put together your own New York golf vacation package at a very reasonable price. The golf courses listed here are public or semi-private and the greens fees cost less than $21.00 (when we checked in summer of 2004) for 18 holes.  The best time for a NY golf vacation is June through September when the weather is mild and the Lake Ontario breezes are refreshing on hot summer days.

     We are blessed that the cottages are situated on the waterfront of Sandy Pond and are also situated 50 feet from the 7th tee of the Elms Golf Club.  If you enjoy golf or are thinking that you might like to try your hand at it then consider a New York golf vacation at one of our cottages.  Golf New York state, it's great!

    Designed by Frank Pizzuto, this 18-hole bent grass course built in 1930 is semi-hilly and very wooded. There are five ponds that come into play on ten holes. The signature hole is #17, requiring a shot past water protecting the front left of the green. The ladies' par is actually 74. The Elms Golf Course is open April through October from dawn until dusk and has the following amenities:

    This popular course near Fulton is set on the banks of the scenic Oswego River and offers golfers magnificent views from a number of its fairways and greens. The 18-hole course is a challenge for all skill levels and features narrow, tree-lined fairways built on rolling terrain and sloping greens. Three of the fairways are dogleg configurations and the course has one small pond that comes into play. Some of the greens and tees are elevated.

Designed by Frederick Emerick and built in 1930's this golf course has greens and fairways of bent grass. The season is from April through November; is open from dawn until dusk and has the following amenities:

The signature hole is #17, a 200-yard, par 3, requiring a long, accurate tee shot over water down to the green. This course was designed by John Mayne and built in 1960.  It’s greens are Poa Annua and the fairways are winter rye. This golf course is open from April through October from 8 AM - 9:30 PM weekdays and 7 AM -  9:30 PM weekends.  It offers the following amenities

This course consists of narrow fairways and a few holes that are defined by a stone wall. Woods border the back of the course. Wildflowers bloom throughout the course during summer.  A creek and several ponds runs through the course, all which come into play on several holes.

Designed by James Doolittle and built in 1996 this golf course has bent grass greens and blue grass fairways. The season is from May through November and is open from dawn until dusk.  Highland Meadows Golf Course offers the following amenities-

This course is lined with mature cherry, pine, willow, and maple trees. The fairways are narrow, and the greens are cut short for more speed. Many out-of-bound stakes line the holes. Water hazards come into play on many holes. This course is described as "tough" due to all the hazards.

This course was built in 1962 and has bent grass greens. It is open from April through November from dawn until dusk. This golf course offers the following amenities:

This scenic course offers a variety of well-designed holes. The front nine is short and hilly, while the back nine is flat and lengthy. The fairways vary from open to narrow, and the large greens are sloped and easy to three putt. Ponds come into play on five holes with hole #17 featuring a peninsula green.

This course was designed by Bob Bingham and built in 1960. The greens and the fairways are bent grass. The Pines Golf Course is open April through October from 8 AM - 9 PM weekdays and 7 AM - 8 PM weekends. This golf course offers the following amenities:

 This course was designed by Ralph Doane and built in 1969. It greens are bent grass and the fairways are bent grass. The season is from April through October and is open from dawn until dusk. This golf course offers the following amenities:

The Red Course features the narrowest fairways and smallest greens among the courses. The Willow Brook Creek runs through all the courses and comes into play on thirteen of the twenty-seven holes.

This course was designed by McDavitt and built in 1952 and has bent grass greens. It is open April through October from 7:00 AM until dark. Willowbrook Golf Club offers the following amenities:

Our Lake Ontario cottage are three waterfront cottage rentals in New York State.  Guests return each year to enjoy family vacations, family reunion vacations, fishing NY’s famous Salmon River, fishing Lake Ontario and Sandy Pond, hunting New York Deer, ducks, geese and wild turkey and to photograph diverse scenery of NY’s Salmon River, Sandy Pond and Lake Ontario.  We New York!
